By specifying the key principles underlying antiscience attitudes, our framework suggests counteractive strategies for increasing acceptance of scientific information by targeting each of the four bases (Table 1, third column). Obviously, no single strategy is perfect or universal, and the current era is replete with unique challenges, such as the spread of misinformation on social media, but specific strategies can still be effective in their respective contexts, for specific goals. We outline a number of these strategies briefly.
